Each season, Fundraising plays a vital role within the club and helps provide vital funds to help with pitch hire and transport to away matches. However we always need new, fresh ideas and so if anyone has any ideas please inform Karen Whitehead or your team captain. Your club needs your support and any such support is always greatly appreciated.
Over the weekend of 19-20th May, 3 Greenisland stalwarts received a terrific reward for all their contribution to hockey over the years. Alyson Douglas, Norma Montgomery and Barbra Webber received a call-up to the Ulster Veterans squad to participate in the inaugural Irish Ladies Masters Challenge. READ MORE.....
In February 2012, the Hockey section provided the GWMSC Management Committee with a Business Plan to develop a synthetic sports pitch on an existing rugby pitch (as you look out the back door of the Clubhouse, it would be cited on the pitch to the left). The Management Committee has since formed a development sub-committee and this sub-committee has been tasked with taking the project forward. This year the Ulster Hockey Union have developed a new system for the completion of match cards. Responsibilty falls on the Home Team to ensure the match card is properly filled in and returned to match secretary. For further advice on how the match card should be completed CLICK HERE
