Greenisland Ladies got off to a good start in the first half having a good
amount of chances to score however a strong Cookstown side denied them each
time. A last minute penalty corner resulted in Cookstown taking the lead just
before the break.
However things went downhill very quickly at the start of the second half
with Cookstown scoring three goals inside the first five minutes. Greenisland's
forwards fought hard against an aggressive Cookstown defence to see some good
chances come but they were unable to find the finishing touch. After two more
goals from the home team and a few injuries for Greenisland, the match finished
6-0. Player of the match was right back Sophie Mills who put in a strong effort
in defence.
