Greenisland took to the pitch knowing that this would be a tough match. The game started quickly with good linking between midfield and forwards, with player of the match Annalisa Gourley doing well to switch the ball to the wings of Carly McCauley and Lynsey Turner, who had some excellent runs throughout the match. Defence was well controlled and organised by Jessica Gilbert and keeper Erin McGarry had very little to do in the first half. Half time score 0-0.
The home team took to the pitch in the second half determined to keep up the same performance from the first half. Unfortunately, a scramble at the goal mouth after a penalty corner saw the Greenisland team 1-0 down 15minutes in, and 5minutes later the score was 2-0 when a quickly taken free hit saw an unmarked Armagh player in the circle finding the back of the net. Greenisland were not disheartened and found themselves camped in the Armagh half for the remainder of the match. Some excellent chances were taken but unfortunately the goal was not to be.
Final score 2-0. Many thanks to Barbra Webber and Ian Ritchie for umpiring
