Playing in the same Junior League, the intra-club derby game on Saturday
afternoon proved keenly contested. Having drawn 0-0 in the previous encounter,
the 4th XI wanted a win.
Play got off to a good start, with the 5th XI holding attacks at bay but
two quick goals from the 4th XI, from Hannah Loughridge and Alison Haire,
put the 5s on the back foot.
The 5s Lindsay Boyd (5th XI player of the match) did manage to score a goal
before half-time to bring the score to 2-1.
Hannah Loughridge was a woman on a mission, however, and harassed the 5s defence.
Her persistence was rewarded with her second goal of the day to bring the
final score to 3-1 to the 4th XI. Jeanna Robb was the 4th XI player of the
match.
