Greenisland's Veterans dusted off their sticks and played Coleraine Veterans
in the first league fixture of 2009-10 season.
Over the years, the Greenisland ladies usually held the upper hand during
these encounters and had no difficulty in taking home the 3 points. Sunday's
game at UUJ proved a different affair ending in a 0-0 draw. This was despite
the best efforts of all the forwards and it proved impossible to get the ball
past the on-form Coleraine keeper.
Tireless work in midfield saw Audrey Macquorodale earn a well-deserved player
of the match.
