On Saturday 24th September the 3s played away against Dungannon
3s. Greenisland were determined to follow on from last week's opening win
of the season. The team started the match by pressing forward and soon earned
their 1st penalty corner but were unable to convert due to an on form dungannon
keeper.
The game evened out and great defensive play by Leigh, Jacky,
Megan and Karen kept the score line clear. Nearing half time greenisland found
the net when Norma passed the ball to Fiona who slap hit the ball past the
keeper and gave them the lead.
The second half continued in the same vein as the first. Heather, Jenny Jeanna,
Fiona and Audrey all hassled well in the midfield and linked play with the
forwards Lauren Claire and Norma. Claire Courtney (pictured) joint player
of the match with Fiona had a particularly great match as she carried the
ball up the right weaving past players on several occasions. The game ended
1 0 and Greenisland picked up another valuable 3 points. Many thanks to Alyson
